I just love music. I enjoy listening to all kinds of genres and styles depending on what I'm doing throughout the day. I have a special mix for when I go running, and I'm sure you have playlists for your commutes, parties and other occasions.

These days, it is easier than ever to bring music with you anywhere you go. Our digital music players and smartphones today are amazing. They make it possible to carry around thousands of songs in the palm of your hand. And to play music from your smartphone for a party or a picnic, just bring along a compact Bluetooth speaker that can sound like a whole room full of stereo equipment.

Unfortunately, though, there are numerous formats for music files. Music players and smartphones aren't compatible with all of them. For instance, if you've ever tried to get non-iTunes songs onto an Apple gadget, then you know what I'm talking about.

This makes it difficult if you get a new music player or phone. Chances are you that through the years, you may have amassed a sizeable music collection, and you don't want to have to rip all your music from CDs again or buy a bunch of songs from iTunes that you already own.
