Watch, listen to, organize and buy movies, music, books and more

Two decades ago, the next big thing in computers was "multimedia." The idea that a computer could play music or even video was mind-blowing.

The first media playing programs were used mostly by techies and there really wasn't a lot you could do with them. Today, you don't even give your media player a second thought as you listen to your huge song library or watch HD video of your favorite shows.

In fact, every computer has a media player built in that you probably use automatically. For Windows it's Windows Media Player and for Mac it's iTunes. Of course, you can run iTunes on Windows and you need to if you have an iPod, iPhone or iPad.

If you don't use iTunes, or you haven't updated it for quite a while, there are plenty of reasons to. It gives you access to 43 million songs, streaming music, 85,000 movies and 300,000 TV shows, along with thousands of podcast, audiobooks and e-books.

Not only that, it can import your music library from CD and organize your home video files. It's a great overall media organizer and player.
