There is so much spying and snooping on the Internet, that it often feels like you can't escape it. No matter what you do, someone is going to figure out how to watch you, or steal your sensitive information.

Those spies could be a rogue government that wants to monitor your online behavior. Even governments we trust, like our own, have spied on you, as exiled whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed in 2013.

It could be a virtual peeping Tom who spies on your most intimate moments by hacking your webcam. It could be a hacker demanding ransom from you. They won't give you access to your own computer unless you pay up. Or, they'll threaten to blackmail you by posting your private photos or recorded conversations.

There are ways to protect yourself, though. One way is to hide your online behavior behind a virtual private network. With a VPN like VyprVPN, you log into your account, then use the Internet as you normally would.

VyprVPN encrypts your Internet connection, which keeps your activity hidden from spies. It also hides your physical location. It hides your unique IP address behind one of VyprVPN's 200,000-plus IPs on servers scattered around the world. In other words, if you're online at home in New York City, it might look to a hacker like you're in Europe or Australia.
