Are you ready for winter? If that word conjures up any negative feelings about shoveling or driving through slush, turn your attention for a minute to the nicer parts of the season.

After a long, hot summer, there's the cool weather. Of course, with those cooler temperatures come the holidays, from Halloween through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve.

There is also snow; the pretty kind that blankets picture-postcard vistas in a fluffy, white carpet. Plus, just think about sitting in front of a fireplace looking out your log cabin window at sparkling snowflakes drifting down over the mountains.

See? Winter's not so bad. If that beautiful side of winter isn't happening outside your window, you can put a hint of it onto your computer screen. The site InDeep Software has a download called SnowFlakes that can be on your screen in just minutes. No matter what background image you have, snowflakes will drift over them. (See photo next page.)
