Have you ever struggled to find a Wi-Fi connection? If you're like us, you've probably been one of those people stretching your arm to the heavens, hoping your laptop, tablet or smartphone will find one.

Despite the ever-growing number of Wi-Fi networks, and hotspot locations, that still happens a lot. However, there's a visually stunning, useful and fun tool that can help.

It's from wireless networking company Xirrus, and it's called Wi-Fi Inspector. (That "Inspector" is tipping off some of its other functions, which we'll get to in a second.)

Wi-Fi Inspector has tools like Radar that come in handy to find hotspots. Radar has the look and feel of an airplane's dashboard controls, specifically a radar screen that highlights which wireless networks are in your area, and which ones are closest to you.

Almost all of Wi-Fi Inspector's tools are visual, and easy to read. Radar, for example, is a colorful circle with bright dots inside it. Those dots are Wi-Fi networks, and show you how strong each one is. Wi-Fi Inspector also has colorful charts that help you, in sight and sound, to find Wi-Fi connections.
