Bring back the Windows 8 Start menu

Bring back the Windows 8 Start menu

Windows 8 has some great speed and security updates, but not everyone is getting the hang of using the new interface. Mostly it's the lack of the familiar Windows Start button.

In the Windows 8.1 update, Microsoft did make some tweaks to improve things, like bringing back a version of the Start button. Click here to find out what features in 8.1 you should enable now.

The Windows 8.1 update still isn't quite the same for many people. But you don't have to continue to stumble through unfamiliar territory.

I know a program that can help you navigate this new interface by adding a splash of the old one. IObit can bring back a Start Menu to help you get your bearings.

The free IObit Start Menu 8 program turns the new Windows 8 tiled Start screen back into a traditional desktop with the classic Windows Start Menu and button.

This makes it easier to navigate Windows 8 and use it the way you want. And you if decide to be adventurous, you can switch back and forth between the classic Desktop view and the tiled Windows 8 system whenever you want.

You can customize the Start Menu to look like a classic Windows 7 Start Menu or like the Windows 8 Start Menu. You can also change what the Start button looks like and when the program will run.

Note: This program is only compatible with Windows 8 and 8.1. It will not work with Windows Vista or 7.
