Organize your desktop

Tell me if this sounds familiar. You're looking for a shortcut or a file on your desktop, but it's taking a while because of the sheer volume of icons randomly spread across your computer screen. Now, it's not a smart practice to keep files saved on your desktop. There are plenty of reasons why. The first big one is that it slows your computer down, and you eventually run out of space for those icons.

I'm betting that some of you are already out of desktop space. But if those files are important enough to be within easy mouse reach, then those files need to be backed up in your Documents or Photos files. Not to mention that having a desktop covered in files and shortcut icons can keep you from finding what you need quickly.

But anyone who has tried to tackle an out-of-control desktop knows how tedious it can be sorting through all those icons and parking them in the correct folders. Then once you've moved all the available files to safer spaces and are left with shortcuts, what you really need is a desktop organizer.
