One of the major elements of Windows is, surprise, windows. You can maximize them, minimize them and move them around. It just takes a click of the mouse on the title bar.

But making windows a certain size isn't as easy. You have to move your mouse to a corner or an edge of a window and then click and drag.  There should be an easier way to resize windows.

Happily, I have the perfect application to help. FeeWhee, short for Feel The Wheel, makes changing window size a snap. It uses your mouse's scroll wheel to change window size and transparency.

FeeWhee is a quiet program that runs in the background, and you never have to adjust settings. When you first start it up you'll hear a beep, and that's it.

After the beep, hover your cursor over the top portion of a window. Scroll the mouse wheel up and down to change the window's size to your preference.

You can also hold the Shift key while scrolling to change transparency. It's a quick way to see what is underneath a window.

Note: This is a portable program. Some antivirus programs will falsely flag it as malware, but it is safe to run.
