It seems like every website I visit - and I visit a lot everyday - wants me to sign up for an account. For some sites, you have to sign up for an account before you can even use the site.
Unless you use a fake or temporary email address, that means there are dozens of sites out there that have bits and pieces of my information, and I'm sure it's probably the same with you.
This is a problem when sites fall victim to hackers. They can get your email address, username and password at a minimum.
This is also a great time to remind you to never use the same password on different accounts or websites. If a hacker cracks just one site, he (or she) will have the keys to every account you use elsewhere with that same password. Check out more valuable password tips here.
That's why it's a good idea to close down your accounts on sites you don't use. Just wipe the slate clean. It keeps hackers from getting too much easy information about you.
Unfortunately, every site has different rules for how to close accounts. That's where AccountKiller comes into play.
