Expensive, high-end laptops
You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg for a good laptop. But maybe you’re into pushing the limits of technology. Or maybe you’ve just got money to burn. Either way, there’s a high-end laptop with your name on it.
I’m going to set the minimum price for high-end laptop at $1,500. And there really is no upper price. If you want to pack in the extras, the sky (or your credit line) is the limit. You can find pretty much anything you want.
That said, some buys are smarter than others. But you knew that. That’s why you’re here reading my Buying Guide.
When thinking high-end, many people jump straight to Apple. And several of its laptops fit that category. The MacBook Pro line comes in 13-, 15- and 17-inch models.
The low-end 13-inch configuration only costs $1,200. But a processor and memory upgrade push it to $1,500. The 15-inch models come in between $1,700 and $2,300. The 17-inch has a single configuration costing $2,500.
Macbook Pro laptops all feature an attractive aluminum body. They also contain Intel Core 2 Duo processors and 4 gigabytes of RAM. They can easily handle video and photo editing. And with an NVIDIA graphics card, they’re not bad for gaming.
