Wireless headphones for watching TV
Sometimes I feel like life is one big tangle of wires. Cords and cables come out of almost everything we own. And for most things, we just have to deal with it.
Headphones are a pleasant exception. Most people get wireless headphones for their MP3 player or cell phone. Many wireless headphones are built specifically for those two applications. But using a pair while watching TV is also pretty popular.
You’ll need to find the right kind of headphones. Most headphones designed for watching TV are the large, over-the-ear style. They usually sound better because they block ambient noise.
Over-the-ear headphones may work fine for exercising, depending on how they fit. Fit is different for everyone. So, try before you buy. Make sure they don’t easily slip off.
Most sports-minded wireless headphones are made for MP3 players and cell phones. They usually use Bluetooth. But Bluetooth headphones can be adapted for TV.
Following are good, inexpensive over-the-ear headphones. And I’ll also include a Bluetooth setup.
Sennheiser RS 120 ($100)
Sennheiser makes a nice pair of RF (Radio Frequency) headphones. They come with an RF transmitter/charging stand. And they have a range of around 300 feet.
