Nearly all children enjoy playing video games. Parents know, because their kids ask for new ones all the time. It could be for Christmas, birthdays or just finishing their homework. At some point, you’re going to end up shopping for video games.

There is a glut of great games this holiday season. Your children are sure to have heard of several. They may even be begging for them. But some of the most hyped games aren’t kid-friendly.

How do you decide what to buy? You could stick to games with rainbows and unicorns on the cover. But don’t forget the games should be fun, too. If they’re not, your kids won’t play them.

I’ve got a list of great games for the holidays. They’re all suitable for children, and fun to boot. Some will even get parents involved.

LittleBigPlanet – PlayStation 3

This game is all about cute worlds and creativity. Kids play as Sackboy, a cartoony character made from burlap. Kids (and parents) can work together to solve puzzles and get through levels.

But the crux of its appeal is the level creator. Kids can create nearly any world they can imagine. And their creations can be shared with others online.
