What's the most popular social network app in iTunes? The answer might surprise you.
It's not Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or LinkedIn. In fact, it's Instagram.
Fun fact: Instagram has more than 200 million monthly users. That's more people than the populations of all but five countries - China, India, the U.S., Indonesia and Brazil.
If you aren't familiar with it, Instagram lets you share fun photos and snapshots with an artsy twist. There are 20 different filters you can add to your photos like Kelvin, Nashville, Lo-Fi, or you can make your photos black and white.
For more fun twists, you can add frames or make your photos look like an old Polaroid. Remember those? You can also change the brightness, saturation, crop and twist your photos in strange ways.
Instagram doesn't call it quits at photos either. To compete with apps like Vine and Facebook, it added a video feature that lets you share up to 30 seconds of video at a time. You can edit, clip, filter and post photos with ease.
Instagram is also a great social network to browse even if you're not posting photos. NASA has a fun Instagram account, the Dalai Lama is fun to follow, and don't forget about the lovable Grandma Betty, or this man with great vintage photos.
When you download Instagram, it will ask for permission to access your photos. Go ahead and click OK. It won't post any of your photos until you tell it to.
