Have you ever had that frustrating moment when you try to contact your kids and they don't pick up? One mom finally had enough, so she created an Android app that will keep her kids from ignoring her when she needs to reach them.
Called "Ignore No More," this app effectively bricks your kid's phone, so they can only do one of two things: Call 911 in an emergency, or call Mom. No more Facebook, Netflix, Snapchat, Instagram, no more anything.
One parental account takes control of multiple phones, so Mom or Dad can lock down any one of their kids' phones remotely. They simply open up the app, select a victim's smartphone from the list, and enter a password known only to them.
Once activated, the phone locks down and displays a screen saying "Your phone is locked. Call Mom." The kids are stuck with a bricked phone until the parent that locked the phone unlocks it again.
The app claims that it's nearly impossible to remove, but a few people have shown that it can be done by unchecking the "Ignore No More" setting in Settings>>Device Administrators. It also helps to have a tough password that changes every time.
Note: This app is currently only available for Androids. No word yet on when this will be available for iPhones.
